Biography
Sheila provides a safe, non-judgmental space to process trauma, explore values, achieve balance, and grow through challenges and change. Her goal is to guide you toward self-empowerment and integrative living. Sheila uses a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and prolonged exposure (PE), alongside existential, somatic, and psychodynamic therapies, as well as integrative and Ayurvedic medicine.
As a yoga teacher and dancer, Sheila is passionate about holistic health, somatic awareness, and mindful exploration. She helps clients implement mind-body practices and lifestyle adjustments to regulate their nervous system and enhance overall well-being. Sheila has several years of experience working in mental health treatment across outpatient settings, with a focus on community mental health clinics and outreach. Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to supporting clients through therapy and self-exploration, particularly for those navigating trauma and survivorship, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, life transitions, perinatal and postpartum mental health, and challenges related to body image and self-worth.
Sheila earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her Master of Education degree in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College.
