Biography
With over nine years of experience in the field, Ms. McAllister is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Aster Mental Health and completed her degrees at Stonehill College and Northeastern University.
Jennifer specializes in treating adolescents and adults facing various challenges, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma histories, family/relationship issues, life transitions, and problematic sexual behaviors. Additionally, Jennifer is adept at supporting individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, college students, working professionals, as well as those who have been formerly incarcerated or involved in corrections.
Her overarching approach is trauma-informed, drawing upon elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide her practice. Jennifer is person-centered and tailors therapeutic interventions to suit her clients’ unique needs while infusing a touch of humor when appropriate.
As the Director of Therapy, Jennifer provides both clinical and administrative support to our therapists, ensuring they can deliver the highest quality care to our clients. She is committed to continuing her own education, earning a certificate in Foundations of Clinical Supervision from Smith College School for Social Work in 2024.
