Biography
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Miss Countie has worked in various psychiatric settings, including clinical stabilization services, inpatient psychiatric units, adult day treatment programs, intensive outpatient programs, and community mental health outpatient therapy. Her experience spans a range of treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindful self-compassion work, and solution-focused therapy, among others. She emphasizes the mind-body connection to help clients develop skills for regulating their nervous systems.
Melissa’s theoretical orientation guides her work with teenagers and adults dealing with depression, anxiety disorders, relationship conflicts, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma, and more. She believes that therapy is most effective when it is person-centered, placing you at the forefront of your treatment. Melissa adapts her approach to each individual and collaborates closely with you in your mental health journey.
Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions is central to Melissa’s practice. Her goal is to support you in navigating challenges and fostering personal growth.
Melissa obtained her bachelor’s in Psychology from Westfield State University and her master’s in Counseling Psychology from Salem State University.
